In the paper under review authors describe the lower semi-Fredholm and the Fredholm spectrum of a weighted composition operator on \(C(K)\) in the case when the corresponding map is a surjection. Obtained criteria for the operator \(\lambda I-T\) to be Fredholm or lower semi-Fredholm involve the notion of almost homeomorphisms of compact spaces.
