On a complete Riemannian manifold with bounded below curvature and dimension not less than 3, the Brownian hitting probability of a set is estimated from above and below by the capacity. This generalizes the corresponding estimate by \textit{I. Benjamini} et al. [Ann. Probab. 23, No. 3, 1332--1346 (1995; Zbl 0840.60068)], and is here applied to characterize related problems on Ricci-flat manifolds and Einstein manifolds.
