In this paper, the functions on \([0,1]\) considered are those whose derivative is of bounded variation. Such functions can be expanded in various orthonormal systems. The conditions on such systems are studied under which the sequence of the corresponding Fourier coefficients is, for any function in question, or is not, for at least one such a function, of bounded variation (bounded \(p\)-variation).
