The author investigates the physical problem of characterizing the surfaces in the Lorentz-Minkowski space \(\mathbb{L}^{3}\) with lowest gravity center and solves the corresponding Dirichlet problem. The classification of all singular maximal surfaces of \(\mathbb{L}^{3}\) invariant by a uniparametric group of translations and rotations is given.
