Star partial order on \(\mathcal{B}_{Id}(\mathcal{H})\) (Q2192863)

Let \(\mathcal{B}_\mathrm{Id}(\mathcal{H})\) denote the set of all idempotent operators on a complex Hilbert space \(\mathcal{H}\). The authors present characterizations of the star partial order on \(\mathcal{B}_\mathrm{Id}(\mathcal{H})\) with respect to a particular space decomposition, related to Halmos' two projections theory. The lattice properties of \(\mathcal{B}_\mathrm{Id}(\mathcal{H})\), endowed with the star partial order, are investigated.
