Summary: This paper presents an alternative neighbourhood topology that can evolve cooperative behaviour of iterated \(n\)-players prisoners' dilemma (INPPD) players. The new social-global topology focuses on the importance of effective communication between INPPD players while exchanging their experiences. This communication is represented by allowing individuals to react with their peers' past actions to promote cooperative strategies. Our topology is designed to enrich the experience of the players from the experiences of other players within their own society, as well as from other societies in the population. Several analyses and benchmark tests are applied on our topology. The results reveal that the social-global topology could evolve and enhance cooperative behaviour of INPPD players and outperform other existing well-known neighbourhood topologies.
