Optimal order of uniform convergence for finite element method on Bakhvalov-type meshes (Q2204547)

The authors of this article consider the \(k\)th order finite element method for \(k\geq 1\) for a singularly perturbed two-point boundary value problem on a Bakhvalov-type mesh. They derive an optimal order of convergence with respect to the perturbation parameter by using a new but simple interpolant. Finally, numerical results are given to support their theoretical findings.
