The work addresses the mathematical modelling processes in a phototrophic-heterotrophic biofilm connecting dynamics of concentrations of sessile and planktonic species and soluble substrates under influence of the light intensity. The resulting partial differential equations are formulated in terms of biochemical kinetics and numerically simulated for different scenarios of light stress effects on biofilm growth, phototrophic organic carbon release. etc.
