The Gutzwiller trace formula (GTF) is a semi-classical representation for the density of states of a bound quantum system, expressed in terms of a sum over periodic orbits of the underlying classical system. The purpose of the article is to provide a relativistic generalization version of the GTF for globally hyperbolic spacetimes with a complete timelike Killing vector field.
