The authors investigate \(q\)-difference equations for a closed operator with not necessarily dense domain in a Banach space. In particular, they study the existence and uniqueness of holomorphic solutions of linear \(q\)-difference equations. The explicit forms of holomorphic solutions are given according to the cases \(|q|<1\) and \(|q|>1\).
