The authors show that in three-dimensional ideal magnetohydrodynamics there exist infinitely many bounded solutions with compact support in spacetime and having non-trivial velocity and magnetic fields. The obtained solutions violate conservation of total energy and cross-helicity, but preserve magnetic helicity. In the two-dimensional case the authors show that no non-trivial solutions with compact support exist in the energy space.
