The main aim of the paper under review is to prove a result on elementary matrices which connects two sets of completable unimodular rows and give a topological interpretation of this result. By using this result the authors deduce a bound on the number of generators of a finitely generated projective module of constant rank \(n\) over a commutative Noetherian ring of dimension \(d\).
