Screening clouds and Majorana fermions (Q2254889)

This work considers model systems, which are assembled from quantum and normal wires under condition that their connection points give localization of Majorana modes, i.e. energy levels corresponding to the operators representing Hermitian and anti-Hermitian parts of the operator annihilating electron on lattice site, which do not appear in the Hamiltonian, whose energy levels are localized on the lattice's links. The crossover in dc Josephson current is studied as a consequence of the screening cloud associated with these Majorana modes. There are considered analytical approximations for various ratios of the characteristic cloud size and the length of normal wire.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1320.81015].
