The paper presents an initial study on Hankel tensors. It brings concept and definition of the Hankel tensor associated with a Hankel matrix. The author defines the basic terms, derives the fundamental properties like symmetricity, copositivity, positive semi-definity, etc., and discusses properties of the Hadamard product and the Vandermonde decomposition of Hankel tensors. One section is dedicated to the spectral properties of the Hankel tensors and bounds for their H- and Z-eigenvalues. Through the whole paper, the author raises additional questions that may inspire further research.
