The paper shows that the adjoint of a composition operator on the Hardy space of the unit disk that is induced by a disk-automorphism is not strongly asymptotically Toeplitz. This answers in the negative an open question raised by \textit{F. Nazarov} and \textit{J. H. Shapiro} [Complex Var. Elliptic Equ. 52, No.~ 2--3, 193--210 (2007; Zbl 1122.47021)].
