On the orders of automorphisms of a closed Riemann surface (Q2266084)

Let S be a closed Riemann surface of genus g (\(\geq 2)\) and let h be a conformal automorphism of S. Then, Wiman proved that the maximum value of the order of h is \(4g+2\). In this paper the author determines the possible order of h which is not less than 3g. Furthermore, he shows all the possible couples of such an S and an h. Except for several cases, in terms of the order of h, such couples are determined uniquely up to conformal equivalence.
