The authors apply the cell boundary element method (CBEM) and the boundary element method (BEM) to elliptic problems coupled by transmission conditions. The CBEM is a discretization technique for elliptic problems that preserves the flux in an arbitrary discrete subdomain as the finite volume method does. On the other hand the method is constructed on the finite element mesh and needs no dual volume generation. Some numerical experiments testing the method and comparing with other couplings are provided.
