Unordered samples with replacement are described as equivalence classes of functions f: \(S\to N\), where \(S=\{1,..,s\}\) and \(N=\{1,...,n\}\). Starting from this concept, which is considered as the naturally combinatorial one, the well-known formula for the number of these samples is derived. Related proofs given previously by other authors are cited and judged.
