The temperature within a die satisfies a parabolic equation with various boundary conditions on different parts of the boundary. By using a fundamental solution this problem is transformed to a time-dependent surface integral equation. The temperature is separated to a steady-state part satisfying Laplace's equation and a non-steady perturbation part. Since the solutions of steady-state potential integral equation has been discussed in earlier papers this model is discussed only briefly here. For the perturbation equation Wrobel's time-marching procedure and the boundary element method (BEM) are used. Numerical results are given.
