In this paper the authors construct bounded linear enriching operators that map \(H^1\) conforming Lagrange finite element spaces to \(H^2\) conforming virtual element spaces in two and three dimensions. These enriching operator are useful for a priori and a posteriori error analyses for fourth order elliptic problems, and they also play an important role in fast solvers for fourth order problems.
