Fourier-type series with integer coefficients in systems of contractions and shifts of a single function in spaces \(L_p\), \(p \geq 1\) (Q2281457)

In this work the author considers systems of functions obtained from contractions and shifts of a single function in spaces \(L_{p}(0,1)\), \(1\leq p<\infty\). Results on Fourier-type series with integer coefficients with respect to the mentioned systems are obtained. The approximation of elements of spaces \(L_{p}(0,1)\), \(1\leq p<\infty\), leads to image compression, i. e., many coefficients vanish. Results of this paper may be of interest also for experts in digital information processing and transfer.
