New representations of affine Kac-Moody algebras (Q2285222)

The paper under review studies nonweight simple modules over affine Kac-Moody algebras. These modules are much less studied than weight representations. In this paper the authors classify structures on the enveloping algebra \(U(\widehat{\mathfrak{g}})\) which are free \(U(\widetilde{\mathfrak{h}})\)-modules of rank 1, for all affine Kac-Moody algebras \(\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}\). Their main result is that such modules exist only for type \(A_\ell^{(1)}, (\ell\geq 1)\), \(C_\ell^{(1)}, (\ell\geq 2)\).
