The paper under review studies a single-server queueing system with regenerative input and generally distributed service times. Under a stability condition, a statistical estimator for the large deviation parameter of the waiting time is built. It is proved that the parameter is consistent and asymptotically normal, and the asymptotic confidence interval for that parameter is established.
