Summary: We present a bijection between permutation matrices and descending plane partitions without special parts, which respects two of the statistics considered by \textit{W. H. Mills} et al. [J. Comb. Theory, Ser. A 34, 340--359 (1983; Zbl 0516.05016)], and an additional statistic considered by \textit{R. E. Behrend} et al. [ibid. 120, No. 2, 409--432 (2013; Zbl 1256.05031)].
