A fractal operator associated with bivariate fractal interpolation functions on rectangular grids (Q2301579)

The authors employ a bounded linear operator which is similar to the so-called \(\alpha\)-fractal operator to construct bivariate fractal interpolation surfaces defined on rectangular grids in \(\mathbb{R}^2\). Some properties of these operators are discussed and an extension of them to the Lebesgue spaces \(\mathcal{L}^p\) for \(p\in [1,\infty)\) is given. Finally, several approximation-theoretic aspects of these operators are discussed.
