The properties of Lindley distributions using various symmetric and asymmetric loss functions are described in this paper. Bayes estimates are given by using squared error, linear exponential (linex) and general entropy loss functions. Since these do not have closed forms, the authors use Lindley's approximation technique to calculate the Bayes estimate. Simulation studies and illustrative purposes are given.
