The authors consider a map defined by the composition of the rotation around the origin of a given point to the \(x\)-axis and the vertical projection of the obtained point to the line which goes through the origin and the given point. By means of this map they construct some geometric locus of points and point out that some well-known curves (the kampyle curve for instance) can be constructed by these means.
