After a detailed exposition of weak \(L_p\)-spaces from the point of view of rearrangement functions, the authors characterize bounded, compact and invertible multiplication operators on weak \(L_p\)-spaces and they give a necessary and sufficient condition for the boundedness of composition operators on these spaces.
