The paper presents a new model of two-sex population dynamics. A set of functional differential equations describing the dynamics takes into account: subdivision into the three groups of male, gestating female and non-gestating female; the structure of age -- pre-reproductive, reproductive and post-reproductive, with limits of each period; the duration of the gestation period; the interaction between the reproductive classes of \((m)\) and \((fng)\), and a so-called polygamy factor. The existence and uniqueness of solutions is proved for a system of equations with respect to the male age density function \(u\) and non- gestating female age density function \(v\). The new model is compared with some earlier models, among them that of \textit{K. H. Rosen} [Math. Modelling 4, 27-39 (1983; Zbl 0523.92012)].
