The author is concerned with the solvability of the equation \(Ax + Cx = f\), \(f \in X\), where \(X\) is a real Banach space, \(A\) is an \(m\)-accretive operator and \(C\) is compact. He establishes some mapping theorems, by using the Leray-Schauder degree, as well as an approximation procedure.
