The author develops a singular perturbation approach to study the dynamical behaviour of the delay-differential system at the points of transition from quasi-periodic to more chaotic states. He observes that some attractor crisis windows appear at merging points of the chaotic bands. The widths and the critical values of the windows vary with the different linear modes of the system regularly leading to some harmonic bifurcation and hysteresis behaviour.
