The subject of this paper is the minimization of special classes of functionals defined on reflexive Banach spaces. Such functionals are continuously Fréchet-differentiable, the gradient satisfies a local Lipschitz condition and a special convergence condition. The Ritz method is used to approximate the minimum point of the functional. The convergence of the method is demonstrated.
