The authors study the existence of positive solutions to a multipoint boundary value problem of a class of second-order delay differential equations by using the concavity of some functions. Their results improve recent results obtained in [\textit{D. Q. Jiang}, Appl. Math. Lett. 15, 575--583 (2002; Zbl 1011.34055); \textit{D. Bai} and \textit{Y. Xu}, Appl. Math. Lett. 18, 621--630 (2005; Zbl 1080.34048)].
