This article highlights an error in a three-step iterative method proposed by \textit{M. A. Noor} and \textit{K. I. Noor} [Appl. Math. Comput. 183, No. 2, 774--779 (2006; Zbl 1113.65051)]. Contrary to the assertion of forth-order, the proposed method has only quadratic convergence as the author shows in this short paper.
