In the present paper, the interaction between plasma waves and a plasma boundary on which the waves normally incident is studied. The plasma occupies a half-space. Its ions form a neutralizing background, and the electron system of the plasma is described using the Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook model. The authors find out which part of the wave energy dissipates under reflection from the plasma boundary and how the wave phase changes. Thereat they analytically solve the linearized problem of the reflection of plasma waves from a half-space boundary of a gas plasma. They consider mirror and diffusion boundary conditions and find the reflection coefficient as function of the parameters of the physical problem. An analysis for waves with long wavelengths is presented.
