The propagation of neutrons through an inhomogeneous crystal medium with density fluctuations is investigated. The scattering process is described by the optical model within the framework of which the Lipman-Schwinger equation \[ \Psi=\Psi_0+G\delta U\Psi \] is considered. Here, the wave function \( \Psi \) describing neutron scattering \( \delta U \) is the perturbation caused by crystal density fluctuations and \( \Psi_0 \) is the incident wave. The optical potential allows the scattered neutron wave intensity to be calculated.
