Fluid queues driven by a birth and death process with alternating flow rates (Q2387473)

The paper considers a fluid queue driven by a birth and death process on a finite state space in which the flow rates are alternatively positive and negative. The aim of the paper is to obtain the stationary distribution function of the buffer occupancy for this fluid model which is modulated by a birth and death process with two alternating arrival rates and two alternating service rates. The case where the state space is infinite is also discussed.
