Fractal approximation as a means for data fitting and functional interpolation is an important tool for practical uses, especially when the target-functions are not smooth. In this paper, periodic functions and their approximation by fractals are studied. For this application, fractal versions of trigonometric approximations and the theorems related to them are considered. Among the results provided, there is a discussion of fractal trigonometric polynomials (with a density theorem), fractal Fourier series and trigonometric fractal interpolation.
