This paper studies a class of finite-dimensional discrete spatiotemporal systems, which appear in digital filtering, imaging and spatial vibrations. The main results include sufficient conditions for the stability of the used finite difference method and some illustrative examples for the chaoticity in the sense of Devaney and of Li-Yorke.
