For a given fuzzy topology an independent fuzzy topology is defined which cannot be compared to the original one, contrary to existing concepts, like generalized fuzzy topologies or Alexandroff fuzzy topology. This structure is called fuzzy independent topology. Its properties are studied, as well as continuity and compactness with respect to it.
