The authors refer to morphogenetic computing as computing faculties that stem from aspects of handling conflicts and uncertainty encountered when comparing incompatible universes. By establishing this approach, they claim that one departs from uncertainty and inconsistency and proceeds to more stable and consistent scenarios. The book covers a breadth of topics that fall under this rubric and is structured in 10 chapters. The volume offers an interesting perspective at the diversity of topics, which is well reflected in the content of the successive chapters including topics such as graph theory with their formal description and references, logic of conflicts, morphogenetic computing in genetic algorithms, and neural morphogenetic computing. The chapters are quite concise and bring the essence of the subject matter along with some illustrative material. This, however, forces the reader to develop a general perspective and position the material in a global context as well as construct algorithmic details. Some applied examples and convincing case studies could have been highly beneficial in this regard. The list of references is quite limited (35 entries) and to some degree visibly outdated. In summary, the book could appeal to those who would like to gain an introductory exposure to morphogenetic computing and consider applying these ideas to their own research problems and applications.
