The authors study presentations of epi-Lipschitz sets (in the sense of Rockafellar) in normed spaces as sublevel sets of Lipschitz functions satisfying a certain qualification condition. The characterization of an epi-Lipschitz set in terms of its signed distance function is also described. Some applications to the optimization of a locally Lipschitz function on a Banach space with epi-Lipschitz set constraints are given.
