The author gives unconditional construction of \(K3\) surfaces over finite fields with given \(L\)-function, up to extension of the base field, under some restriction on the characteristic. There have been similar results by \textit{L. Taelman} [Algebra Number Theory 10, No. 5, 1133--1146 (2016; Zbl 1344.14024)] assuming a form of semistable reduction for \(K3\) surfaces.
