The authors prove a new existence result for the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary value problem of \(p\)-Laplacian equations \[ -\varphi_p(u')'= \lambda h(t)f (u), u(0)=u(1)=0, \] where \(h\) may change sign. The proof of their main result is based on the nonlinear alternative of Leray-Schauder-type theorem.
