For any associative ring \(R\) with 1, the Vershik-Kerov group is a group of invertible infinite matrices over \(R\). The author describes the derived and the lower central series of certain subgroups of the Vershik-Kerov group in the case when \(R\) is commutative of stable rank one and 1 is the sum of two units in \(R\).
