The paper is devoted to the problem of remigration of scientists and other scholars to East Germany after the Second World War. The social and political framework of this is described. The problem is illustrated by examples of two physicists: Frith Lange (remigrated in 1959 from the Soviet Union) and Klaus Fuchs (remigrated in 1959 from Great Britain).
