The Lehmann foliation \(\mathcal{L}\) is a certain Lie foliation whose transverse group is the 3-dimensional Heisenberg group \(N\). It was defined in [\textit{D. Lehmann}, C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Sér. A 286, 251--254 (1978; Zbl 0379.57004)]. Here, the author shows that \(\mathcal{L}\) cannot be deformed into a non-nilpotent Lie foliation.
