Wireless adiabatic power transfer (Q2431320)

The paper addresses a theoretical analysis of the wireless energy transfer between two separated coils, in the presence of some frequency mismatch between them. The model is described by a system of two linear coupled-mode equations, which turn out to be similar to the equations describing Rabi oscillations in two-level atoms. Using this similarity, the equations are converted into the so-called adiabatic basis. Then, assuming a regime with the frequency mismatch between the coupled coils slowly varying in time, it is predicted that the energy transfer may be optimized by means of the mechanism of the adiabatic passage, within the slow variation of the adiabatic states.
