The authors deduce analytic expressions for the tunnel current and the collected charge for the diffusion model of detectors with a simple electrode geometry. The authors also analyze the effect of various physical parameters on the apparatus line shape. Numerical methods for rhombic regions are used to compare the calculation results with experimental data.
