The authors investigate discontinuous two-point boundary value problems with an eigenparameter in the boundary conditions with transmission conditions at the two points of discontinuity. The operator-theoretic formulation of this boundary value problem is given. The asymptotic formulas for eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of this problem are obtained.
